Configuring Two-Factor Authentication for my user

OdataLink requires Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) enabled. This is to ensure that access to your data is as safe as possible.

With Two-Factor Authentication enabled, OdataLink will require a time-sensitive code that must be entered to complete the login process.

You have two options to generate this code:

  • An authenticator app (such as Google Authenticator, Authy, FreeOTP)
  • Email

Configure Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)

To configure Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) for your user, follow these steps.

  1. Click on your Email Address in the top-right corner of the screen.
  2. Click on the Change Two-Factor button.
  3. Select whether you want to generate the code from an APP or Email
  4. If using an APP, scan the QR Code via the authenticator app to configure it.

Change the Two-Factor Authentication Key (2FA)

OdataLink generates a Two-Factor Authentication Key specific to each user. This key controls the security codes that are generated and must be typed in to login to OdataLink.

You change the Two-Factor Authentication Key (2FA) should you lose access to the authenticator app or believe your system has been compromised. Note that changing the key will prevent any authenticator app that uses the old key from generating a valid code.

  1. Click on your Email Address in the top-right corner of the screen.
  2. Click on the Change Two-Factor button.
  3. Click on the Create New 2FA Key button.
  4. If using an APP, scan the QR Code via the authenticator app to configure it.
