Whenever OdataLink blocks access to an OData Feed from an unauthorised IP address, OdataLink will log Error 6001 and also generate an email to assist with authorising access.

The email generated will be sent to all Administrators of the model. The email includes details relating to the account, model and user as well as the IPv4 or IPv6 IP Address and it's Geo-based location.

Steps

To authorise an IP address via the auto-generated email, follow these steps.

  1. Go to your email client's Inbox folder.
You may also need to check your Junk folder.
  2. Find the email notification and click on the link.
Only click on links sent from odatalink.com and pointing to app.odatalink.com.
  3. Choose whether to allow the single IP Address or a Geo-based IP address from the following options (if applicable).
    Allow a single IP address
Allow ALL IP addresses originating from the ASN and CITY indicated
Allow ALL IP addresses originating from the CITY indicated
  4. Click the Update Firewall button.

Troubleshooting email issues

If you do not see the email in your inbox, it may pay to also check your junk folder.
