Updating the Firewall with the your current IP Address

To simplify managing the Firewall, OdataLink provides IP Addresses that are associated with each users login.

Whenever you login to OdataLink, the website will check to see if your IP Address is authorised. If it is not authorised, you will be prompted to update your IP address. This greatly simplify managing the Firewall for those that have dynamic IP addresses. It essentially means that you can update the Firewall simply by logging in.

Steps for Administrator and Users to update their IP Address

If you are an Administrator or User able to update your own IP address, follow these steps.

  1. Login to OdataLink.
  2. Choose whether to allow the single IP Address or a Geo-based IP address from the following options (if applicable).
    Allow a single IP address
    Allow ALL IP addresses originating from the ASN and CITY indicated
    Allow ALL IP addresses originating from the CITY indicated
  3. Choose the action to take from the following list (if applicable).
    Add a new entry for ALL users
    Add a new entry just for ME
    Update MY existing entry
  4. Enter or select the name representing this location.
  5. Click the Update Firewall button.

Alternatively, if you do not want to enable this functionality or update your IP Address, click the Ignore button.


Steps for Users that do not have access to update their IP Address

  1. Login to OdataLink.
  2. Click to Notify Admins and wait for the Administrators to action the request.
