Adding IP addresses

Each model has a built-in firewall. The firewall secures access to the OData Feed URLs and your data.

If the firewall is enabled for a model, an IP addresses will need to be added before data can be refreshed.


Adding an IP-based IP address

To add an IPv4-based or IPv6-based IP address, follow these steps.

  1. Click on IP Addresses on the menu in the left-hand side.
  2. Click on the Add IP Address button.
  3. Enter a name for the IP address.
    This is the display name of the IP address and is only used within the OdataLink website. We recommend using the location of the office or the name of the user to which it applies.
  4. Enter the Start IP and End IP.
    OdataLink supports both IPv4 and IPv6 IP addresses. The type to use and enter will depend on your network environment.
  5. Click the Add IP Address button.

Once added, you will need to allow it for specific models. See Allowing / disallowing IP addresses access to a model for more information.

Adding a Geo-based IP address

To add a Geo-based IP address, follow these steps.

  1. Click on IP Addresses on the menu in the left-hand side.
  2. Click on the Add IP Address button.
  3. Enter a name for the IP address.
    This is the display name of the IP address and is only used within the OdataLink website. We recommend using the location of the office or the name of the user to which it applies.
  4. Enter the Start IP and End IP.
    OdataLink supports both IPv4 and IPv6 IP addresses. The type to use and enter will depend on your network environment.
  5. Click the Add IP Address button.
  6. Click on the Convert to Geo-based button.
  7. Select the type of Geo-based validation to apply.
  8. Click the Save' button.
