Allowing / disallowing IP addresses access to a model

OdataLink has an inbuilt Firewall to safeguard your data and the OData feed urls.

As such, models can only be used from specific IP Addresses.

Steps

OdataLink provides two ways to control which IP addresses have access to models. Both approach leads to the same result.

To allow / disallow IP addresses access to a model follow these steps.

  1. Click on Models on the menu in the left-hand side;
  2. Find the model you want to work on and click View;
  3. Click on the Manage IP Addresses button;
    The list of known IP addresses previously added to OdataLink will appear;
    If an IP address you want to grant access is not already in the list, it will need to be added first. See Adding IP addresses.
  4. Tick the known IP addresses range for which to give access;
  5. Untick any known IP addresses range for which to revoke access;
  6. Click Save.

To allow / disallow a single IP address access to multiple models follow these steps.

  1. Click on IP Addresses on the menu in the left-hand side;
  2. Find the IP address you want to edit access and click View;
    If the IP address you want to control access is not already in the list, it will need to be added first. See Adding IP addresses.
  3. Click on the Manage Models button;
    The list of known IP addresses previously added to OdataLink will appear;
  4. Tick the models for which to give access;
  5. Untick any models for which to revoke access;
  6. Click Save.
